During this month we will be covering the first six weeks of our unit. This is students getting acclimated to the classroom, their environment, their friends, and their new surroundings.
October
During this month we learned about our ball unit. We talked about different types of balls, their size, if they roll, if they bounce, and what we do with balls.
November/December
During this month we learned about our clothes unit. We talked about different types of clothes and why we wear them. We learned about how you wash and dry clothes and even created our very own laundromat in our dramatic play center.
January/February
During this month we have been learning about our box unit. We have been talking about what you can do with boxes, the different shapes, sizes, and how you can create things out of boxes. We are making an airplane out of our boxes.
March/April
The unit we are focusing on is Roads. We are talking about different roads, how some are bumpy or smooth, what signs we see when we drive on roads, and traffic lights.
The next unit we are working on is insects. We learned about different types of insects, what we know about insects, where they live, and even had a visitor from Alley Pond who brought some insects for us to see and hold.
