Welcome Back Parents!
I hope everyone had a restful and fun week with their family. When visiting the classrooms today, everyone looked happy to be back! Since we are nearing the 100th day of school, I just wanted to reach out to give you some reminders and general housekeeping.
When we submitted our reopening plan in July to reopen for the 2020-2021 school year we included the option for you to opt into the remote academy. Sixteen of our students are still in the remote academy at this time.
This is a reminder that we are not offering a remote in house option in the school. We have reopened to be in school 5 days of in person learning a week. NDCA does not have teachers available at this time to offer remote learning to those that would like to stay home now.
We will only be working with families that are under quarantine or isolation recommendations and offer them remote learning temporarily while under such recommendations. If you have a concern that you would like considered, please email me in writing at the email address below. We may also switch to remote learning as a school for instances of extreme weather or professional learning days etc. If your child is sick, let them be sick, rest and get well and be marked absent from school. While I want to remain flexible and accommodating, I also need to remind you of the terms we submitted into the state which was not a hybrid model.
While be able to switch to remote at the drop of a hat is nice, it is not the ideal situation for the faculty or the students. Ultimately 5 days in person is where we would like to be, it has shown to help children be successful.
Thank you for your understanding concerning this matter. At NDCA we want to offer your children the best possible education under the circumstances we are under. The best way for us to do this is in person learning.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have at firstname.lastname@example.org
Stay safe and well!
