Science: Continental Drift Project:  (Writing, Puzzling, Assessing  evidence) Work due Wednesday, March 4, 2020.  Extra Credit Challenge: Create a Critical cartoon regarding the Theory of Continental Drift, Pangaea, Alfred Wegener… The cartoon should reflect your understanding of the science. You may use a play on words, rhyme, sarcasm… etc. to convey the message of the cartoon. Please draw it neatly, with color and make sure the writing is legible. Due: Thursday, March 5th.

Science:  Mini Writing Project: From your notes on the various projects on the elements choose two of the “I want to know more about” questions you wrote. Research and find the answer to the questions Write in your own words. Then, explain how, what you have learned affects our lives. See Google Classroom for the writing format to be used on loose leaf. Project is due Friday, February 28th.

Grade 6
Religion: Students had their throats blessed by Seminarian Joe today, for the Feast of St. Blaise.
Science: Study the review sheets for your Quiz on Atoms, Elements and the Periodic Table. Test will be Wednesday 2/5/2020. Be able to discuss the atomic number, charges of the subatomic particles ( protons, electrons, neutrons), to draw an atom and label the parts according to the  Periodic Table’s Tile, study the difference between natural elements and synthetic, and know the correct spelling for the 20 elements and their abbreviations that we have studied. Reminder: Groups that haven’t presented their Google Slide Presentations on their Elements will have the opportunity to do so tomorrow.
Grade 7
Science: All students will present the project Slide presentations on the Cells you’ve been working on beginning tomorrow.
Grade 8
Science: Complete pp 50 -54 in science text. These questions and practice will help reinforce your skills for the Mineral Identification Lab on Thursday, February 6, 2020.
