Re:              Important Updates

As we finish the second trimester and move into the third, I would like to say thank you to the families for all of their honesty and following of the guidelines that we must follow regarding covid-19 regulations.  When in doubt you can just reach out.

There have been many questions regarding travel and while the Governor has made an announcement regarding travel quarantines being lifted the NYCDOHMH has not lifted them as of yet for schools.  Please be aware that as of right now, if you travel with your child, they need to quarantine for 10 days or “test out” of quarantine as previously stated.  If anything changes as everything does on a daily basis, I will notify you immediately.

As of right now the current last day of school is scheduled for June 23rd.  Information regarding step up ceremonies will be forth coming.  We have not yet received any guidance for these. As you are aware we are also using the gym as a classroom, so we do not have access to the space to have a step up ceremony.

I mentioned in a previous notice that we will not be collecting for service hours this year because we have not been able to invite you into the building to work them off. I do however expect them to start up again next year. Please understand that while we are not collecting for service hours we will be collecting for fundraising.  Both amounts are accounted for in our budget.  As the weather warms up we will be offering more opportunities for fundraising. Thank you for your patience while we continue to figure things out.

The students in grades 4, 6 and 7 are working towards their state test and what that may look like.  We still are unsure if these tests are happening, but I want to assure you that the children in grades 4, 6 and 7 will be ready for them if and when they do.  They are working very hard each and every day.

For May we are working on a calendar raffle each day.  If you own a business or know someone that does, or your family would like to donate an item or a gift card to help us make the baskets for the raffle, please let us know.

I wish you all a Blessed Easter with your family and restful Spring Break!
