Covid-19 Update March 17, 2020

March 17, 2020

Dear Parents,

I am pleased to announce that we have completed one day of remote learning.  As this is clearly a learning process for everyone, I think NDCA has been better prepared than most.    This will become the new norm for all of us until the minimum of April 20, 2020.

I would like to take a moment and thank all of the teacher’s that have worked very hard transitioning to a remote style of learning and helping each other as well as our parents’.  I wanted to reiterate that this is a learning process for ALL.  I ask for your patience and understanding while transitioning to this platform.  I would like to ask that you do not reach out to the teachers until office hours which will begin at 10 am.  This is necessary for the teachers to plan, grade and prepare for upcoming issues.

No experience is perfect and we know that you want to make sure that your child is learning to the best of the ability, that is our goal as well.  Please know that the teachers are now not only teaching remotely but they are also engaging in video conferences and conference calls etc.  We are working around the office hours schedule for this to happen successfully.

There will be blips I just ask that each day your child signs the google form for attendance.  If for some reason they can’t get into the form under the attendance post in classroom just add a comment “here” this will give us a time stamped record of attendance for the day.  It is also imperative that they are logged in using their NDCA email address.  The format for that is first name.last name @notredamecatholicacademy.net.  This address is how all logins were formatted. Another issue we came across today is that the platforms need to be accessed through the google chrome browser; it will not work in the safari browser.

I will be posting resources for parents as well on the school website www.notredame-ca.org under parent resources.  Feel free to look there for additional resources.  I hope you are all safe and continue to be.  My prayers are with all of the Notre Dame Catholic Academy families in the crazy time.  If anyone needs to reach me, feel free to email me at Jennifer.dilorenzo@notredamecatholicacademy.net.

May God Bless Us All
