I hope everyone is staying safe at this very difficult time. I wanted to give you and update on what will be happening moving forward. As you are aware, the Mayor has closed all public schools through April 20th. I am assuming that will be the same for our school and families as well.
The teachers are here working very diligently to assign fun and educational assignments for the children to complete during this very difficult time. Please be aware that we will be taking attendance each day for children in grades K-8. This will be done through google classroom. Each homeroom teacher will be posting an attendance form each day. Attendance for the day will be open from 7 a.m. – 10 a.m. Then it will be shut down and attendance will not be recorded for the child for that day if they complete the survey after 10 a.m.
Work will be posted in google classroom daily and work should be completed on the day that it is assigned. Teachers will have designated “office hours” from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at this time teachers will be available to answer any questions regarding the work that has been posted. All work posted should be completed the same day it was assigned. As the work is assigned it will be graded and grades will be posted in Option C. All teachers can be reached at their school email, the school email is the same for each teacher, firstname.lastname@example.org.
For those of you that have asked to have the iPad at home with your child. Please be aware that it works on the Sprint network and does not need access to internet. For those of you that do not have internet at home Spectrum is offering internet for those affected by Covid-19, you can call 8555679656 and express to the representative that you have been affected by the Coronavirus and school has closed. Even if you do not have an account they will give you Internet access.
We will not be in the building for the remainder of the week as it undergoes deep cleaning. If you need to contact me please email me at Jennifer.email@example.com.
I will inform you of information as it is made available to me. During this school closure, I ask that you please stick to the guidelines and not take your children to the parks or movies. A walk around the block is fine or out in your own back yard. We are closing in an attempt to slow the virus down, not adhering to the directions to the department of health and CDC will not help and will continue putting people at risk. Stay away from heavy populated areas.
This is new territory for all of us. I ask for your patience as we work on providing the best possible remote learning experience for your children.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
